Recreation

Recreation remains a central part of the VRF foundation and reflects the organization’s early roots in adaptive, community-based programming. This pillar is designed to promote wellness, movement, and peer connection through adaptive and community-focused activities that help veterans engage more fully in shared experiences and supportive environments.

Participation begins through Access Support and MyVRF membership.

Connection, Movement, and Community-Based Wellness

Adaptive recreation can do more than create a positive experience. It can help reduce isolation, encourage movement, and strengthen peer engagement in ways that support broader well-being. At VRF, recreation is not treated as a stand-alone activity, but as part of a more coordinated support structure. Through Access Support and MyVRF membership, recreation may also serve as an entry point to additional services when needs related to mobility, provisions, or resource navigation are identified through intake and assessment.
